Alexandra Rosa Koskinen (b1999) is a Finnish/Peruvian artist, curator and researcher, working within the arts and culture sector, in between theory and practice. In 2021 she graduated from the University of the Arts London (UAL), with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art, Painting and in 2024 she completed her Master’s at Aalto University in Visual Cultures, Curating and Contemporary Art Theory (ViCCA)
While she experiments with video performances, glass sculpture and installation, her work is primarily based on oil painting and printmaking. Embedded with themes of morality, memory and (cultural) identity, she seeks to elevate the singularity of the mundane, through the distortions and surreal transformations of the subjects that inhabit her every work - always relying upon text based work as a foundation for her images; pursuing the recollection, resurfacing and redesign of known narratives.
